Christmas Cards | American Greetings | 2023
American Greetings asked me to create 3 cards for the 2023 Holiday season. The cards were intended for kids, and would have die-cut edges as a premium feature. I was asked to come up with concepts, finished art, and interior sentiments for each.
For the 2-pack, we wanted both cards to be visible from the front when packaged together because the back would feature the art for the insides of each card. With this in mind, I designed the reindeer with a deep die-cut along the antlers so the tree card could peek through!
For the single card, I wanted to make a big statement and went with an oversized polar bear with big hugging die-cut arms. This was designed to stand up when both arms are opened, making it a great decor piece as well!
Christmas Gift Bag | Papyrus | 2020
Papyrus asked me to create art for a specialized gift bag they designed for the intended purpose of carrying a 6-pack of beer. Made right-sized for a single pack, reinforced to carry enough weight, and a bottle opener for a tag, it made grabbing a gift for a holiday party a snap! The art was designed to be classic but joyful!
Accordion Snowman Card | Papyrus | 2019
Papyrus asked that I design a double fold-out ice-cream snowman greeting card for their 2019 holiday set. I created the die-cut based on their sizing requirements and created a treat-inspired pop-up character. It was finished with a holographic effect that made him sparkle!
Set of 6 Christmas Cards | American Greetings | 2018
In 2018, American Greetings asked if I could create artwork for 6 cards their internal design team had developed. They provided art direction, a color palette, and the sentiments. I provided the art, patterns and hand-lettered text. Below is how the collection came together!
I was given the go-ahead to do die-cuts all the way around each character, so each card ended up with a unique shape! I tied the collection together through the use of color, character style, and repeating patterns/themes - such as holly leaves and snowflakes. Inside the cards was a patterned page and a sentiment. Examples of the interior patterns are shown below!
